Elections Newfoundland and Labrador has outlined special voting measures for residents of Conception Bay North who have been displaced by recent wildfires, ensuring all eligible voters in the Carbonear–Trinity–Bay de Verde district can still cast their ballot.

Displaced electors have several options in the upcoming General Election. Until Tuesday, October 7, at 6 p.m., voters can cast a Special Ballot at any of the more than 70 Elections NL offices across the province. A Special Ballot voting day will also be scheduled soon at the Salem Community Centre.

Advance polls are set for October 7, where voters may cast their ballot at any advance poll location in the Carbonear–Trinity–Bay de Verde district.

On Election Day, October 14, displaced voters from Ochre Pit Cove, Western Bay, Broad Cove, Blackhead, Adams Cove, Kingston, Small Point, and Spout Cove will be able to vote at one of four designated locations:

  • Ronayne Law Office, 66 Powell Drive, Carbonear

  • John Hoskins Community Centre, 575 Main Street, Old Perlican

  • Ronnie Johnson Community Centre, Main Road, Western Bay

  • Elections NL Headquarters, 24 Stavanger Drive, St. John’s

All other electors in the district are required to vote at their assigned polling station.

For those unable to attend in person, a Vote-By-Mail kit is available and can be sent to a temporary address. Applications must be submitted by Thursday, October 2, at 8 p.m., and ballots will be counted in the elector’s home district.
