Visitor Restrictions at Carbonear General Hospital after COVID-19 Case

Eastern Health has temporarily suspended visitation on inpatient units located on the 6th floor and unit 2 on the 7th floor at Carbonear General Hospital following a positive COVID-19 test.

At this time isolation precautions and testing are being implemented for affected patients. Contact tracing is ongoing and anyone who is considered to be a close contact will be notified.

Visitation may be permitted in certain exceptional circumstances as determined by the healthcare team. Patients may be permitted one essential visitor/support person while visitor restrictions are in place.

Palliative care and end-of-life visitation should also be discussed with the healthcare team.
