Vehicles stranded in roadways in the metro area prompts warning from RNC

The RNC is advising motorists to stay off the roads in and around the metro region.

As of 4:00 am the RNC reported that many roads are impassable due to heavy snow and whiteout conditions. On ramps and off-ramps to the Trans Canada Highway, the Outer Ring Road and the Manuels Access Road are blocked due to heavy snow.

There are multiple vehicles stranded in roadways around the city making it difficult for emergency response vehicles to provide assistance.

Police are requesting that the public remain off the roads until weather conditions improve and road crews have had an opportunity to clear problem areas.
