Vehicle strikes light pole in Mount Pearl

The RNC responded to the scene of a single vehicle crash on Commonwealth Avenue in Mount Pearl overnight. Reports indicate that two opponents of the vehicle fled the scene.

As of 6:00 a.m. crews from Mount Pearl, Newfoundland Power and the RNC were still on the scene and will remain on the scene for the next few hours to repair utility poles following this incident.

There are over 1,600 customers without power.
