Vehicle overturns in St. John’s on Wednesday night

Emergency personnel responded to a portion on Pearltown Road between the Pitts Memorial overpass and Doyles Lane just before 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday night for reports of a single-vehicle crash.

When firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department arrived on the scene the single vehicle had left the roadway travelling up a small embankment and landing on its side stopping feet away from a utility pole. At least one person was assessed at the scene by Newfoundland Health Services paramedics and St. John’s Regional Firefighters it is unknown if person was taken to hospital. The vehicle involved did suffer moderate damage due to the collision. A portion of the road was closed for a brief moment to allow the tow truck to remove the damaged vehicle.
