UPDATED | RNC Investigating Vehicle-Pedestrian Collision that sent a 73 year old to hospital with significant injuries, Wednesday evening

A male pedestrian was taken to hospital following a collision in downtown St John’s on Wednesday evening.


Emergency crews responded to a portion of Prince of Wales Street between Pennywell Road and Fitzpatrick Avenue around 7:30 p.m.. Reports from the scene indicate the pedestrian walked in front of a SUV and was struck. They were taken to hospital with what are not believed to be serious injuries. The driver of the SUV was reportedly uninjured.


The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) closed the road for roughly an hour and half as they investigated the collision.



Update from Police - The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is seeking information from the public following a vehicle-pedestrian collision in downtown St John's.


RNC collision analysts are seeking any information, including video footage (CCTV or dash camera), from the area of Prince of Wales Street, between Fitzpatrick Avenue and Pennywell Road, in the lead up to or following the collision.
