Unsettled weather to impact province Wednesday
Another weather system will impact Newfoundland and Labrador on Wednesday
Snow will push into Newfoundland on Wednesday morning the snow will change to rain for most areas by Wednesday afternoon with the exception of the Great Northern Peninsula which will continue to see snow.
Rain will continue across the majority of Newfoundland until Thursday morning. From there, the rain will move out and scattered flurries is possible for many areas. Snowsqualls are expected along the West Coast until Thursday afternoon.
Across southern Newfoundland rainfall amounts of 10 to 20 mm is expected. 20 to 30 mm, except possibly exceeding 50 mm over higher elevations is likely on the southwestern coast. For the west coast, 10 to 20 mm of rain is expected. Lesser amounts are expected in central and eastern Newfoundland.
Heavy snow is possible on the Great Northern Peninsula where 15 to 25 cm is expected.
Winds will gust between 70 and 90 km/h across the island. Winds may gust to 110 km/h in the Wreckhouse area.
Snow is expected across the majority of southern Labrador. Snow will begin on Tuesday night and continue until Thursday afternoon.
15 to 20 cm of snow is expected for southeastern areas.
The wind in Labrador will not be significant.
