An Air Canada flight en route to Paris was forced to make an unscheduled landing in St. John’s early Thursday morning after a passenger became unruly on board.
Police responded to the incident at approximately 1:30 a.m., when the flight diverted to St. John’s International Airport. A 43-year-old male passenger was removed from the aircraft by authorities.
He was subsequently charged under the Aeronautics Act for unruly and dangerous behavior. The individual was taken into custody and is being held at the St. John’s City Lockup pending a court appearance.
