Ukrainian newcomers to arrive in St. John’s tomorrow

Ukrainian newcomers will be arriving in St. John’s tomorrow. The flight travelling from Katowice, Poland to St. John’s will arrive tomorrow evening.

Premier Furey and Minister Byrne will be on hand to welcome the newcomers.

The provincial government and the Association for New Canadians are looking for help from residents who wish to volunteer.

Residents can help by identifying job opportunities for Ukrainians and assisting with accommodation and donations of goods and/or services.

Additionally, people can donate to the Association for New Canadians Emergency Fund, assist as an interpreter, or join the Family Match Program.
