Two women charged after stolen vehicle found in Downtown St. John’s

Police arrested two women Sunday morning after locating a stolen vehicle parked in the downtown area of St. John’s.
According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, officers responded around 11:15 a.m. on October 5 to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon investigation, police discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen and found two women inside.
A 29-year-old woman, who was driving the vehicle, was charged with public mischief, possession of stolen property, and breaching probation. A 48-year-old passenger was also charged with possession of stolen property and breaching probation.
Both women were taken to the St. John’s city lockup and held for a court appearance.
