Two vehicle collision takes out traffic light in St. John’s on Wednesday night

A two vehicle collision in St. John’s on Wednesday night knocked down a traffic light and caused traffic disruptions.


Emergency personnel were called to the intersection of Allandale Road and Mount Scio Road at around 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday night for reports of a traffic accident, when crews arrived on scene a two vehicle collision had took out a traffic light pole causing it to fall on the roadway.


Both vehicles involved did sustain significant damage as a result of the crash, no serious injuries were reported as a result of the crash.


The intersection did have some traffic disruptions due to one of the lights being struck causing it to be treated as a four way stop. It is unclear at this time what caused the collision.
