Two people taken to hospital after collision in St John's on Saturday evening, with one person having to wait an hour for an ambulance

The two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Kelsey Drive and Kiwanis Street in St. John's, sent both drivers to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.


The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. when emergency responders from the St. John's Regional Fire Department (SJRFD) arrived at the scene, they found two vehicles that had sustained significant damage as a result of the collision.


While both drivers were transported to hospital, one driver experienced a delay in receiving medical transport. The ambulance, which reportedly responded from Holyrood, arrived at the scene approximately one hour after the collision occurred.


This is the second collision that a individual had to wait an hour for a ambulance to arrive within the past couple of days, the other one occurred on Topsail Road in Paradise on Thursday evening. (March 6th)


Traffic was slowed in the area for roughly an hour and half, until crews would clear the scene.
