Two people were taken to the hospital, and one person was assessed by paramedics on Monday after a fire in a St. John’s home.
Firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department were called to Casey Street at around 4:55 p.m. on Monday for a reported structure fire.
Before firefighters could arrive, residents had the fire put out. Firefighters did knock down some drywall to make sure the fire didn’t spread. The home sustained minor fire damage; however, smoke filled parts of the home.
Traffic in the area was disrupted as crews attended the scene.
Two people were taken to the hospital with minor smoke inhalation, while a third person was treated on scene for smoke inhalation.
