Two pedestrians sent to hospital following separate collisions in St John's on Friday evening.


First Story:


Emergency crews responded to the first collision, shortly after 5:10 p.m. on Water Street near Sudbury Street. Upon arrival, firefighters from the St John's Regional Fire Department (SJRFD) West-End Station, found a individual laying in the roadway, that was struck by a westbound pickup truck. SJRFD Firefighters and NL Health Services (NLHS) Paramedics attended to the individual, and helped them to a nearby stretcher, the individual was later transported to hospital with unknown injuries.


The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Collision Analyst attended the scene, and closed Water Street heading westbound and reduced one lane eastbound to conduct thier investigation into the cause of the collision.


Second Story:


Emergency crews responded to the second collision, at around 5:50 p.m. on Ropewalk Lane in front of Sobeys. Upon arrival, firefighters found a individual laying on the ground near a crosswalk, that was struck by a sedan, which stopped approximately 100 feet down the road. SJRFD Firefighters and NL Health Services (NLHS) attended to the individual, and loaded them into a nearby ambulance, adn was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.


The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Collision Analyst attended the scene, and reduced one lane southbound to document the collision.


RNC are investigating both collisions.
