Two men wanted after bear spray assault in Corner Brook

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary are searching for two men following an assault involving bear spray at a residence in Corner Brook.


Police responded to a disturbance on Crestview Avenue on March 14, where they found a man who had been assaulted with bear spray. The suspects had fled the area before officers arrived.


The RNC’s Criminal Investigation Division later identified the suspects as 21-year-old Joshua Roberts and 40-year-old Todd Barry. Both men are believed to be actively evading police.


Roberts is wanted on charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, administering a noxious substance and breach of court orders.


Barry is wanted on charges of assault with a weapon, administering a noxious substance and uttering threats.


Police describe Roberts as five-foot-nine with a shaved head and blue eyes. Barry is described as six-foot-one with hazel eyes and brown and grey hair.


The RNC is asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of either man to contact police at 709-637-4100. Anonymous tips can be provided through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or online.
