Two men charged after stolen vehicle stopped in St. John’s

Two men are facing multiple charges after police stopped a stolen vehicle in the west end of St. John’s early Thursday morning.
Around 2:10 a.m., RNC officers observed a vehicle operating with a false licence plate. Officers conducted a traffic stop and determined the vehicle had been reported stolen.
The 37-year-old driver was charged with possession of stolen property and was found to have several outstanding warrants for his arrest. A 29-year-old passenger was also charged with possession of stolen property and had multiple warrants, including one related to a robbery investigation.
Both men were held in custody to appear in court later in the morning.
