Two impaired drivers arrested in western Labrador

The RNC in western Labrador arrested two individuals in separate impaired driving incidents.


On Saturday, at 2:15 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of BMO in Wabush after receiving a call from the public about concerns over their driving. As a result of the investigation the driver of the vehicle, a 22-year-old female, was arrested for impaired driving and the vehicle was impounded. The investigation into this matter is ongoing and charges are anticipated.


On Sunday, at 3:01 a.m. police conducted a traffic safety stop on a vehicle in the area of Hudson Drive in Labrador City. As a result of the stop a 40-year-old female was arrested for impaired driving and her vehicle was impounded after failing the roadside screening device. Upon further investigation, the female was charged with impaired driving and driving over the legal limit, she was released to appear in court at a later date.
