Two fatalities in crash near Goobies

The RCMP have confirmed that two people are dead after a head-on collision on the Trans-Canada Highway east of the Goobies Weigh Scales on Thursday evening.

Shortly before 5:00 pm yesterday afternoon the RCMP responded to the report of the collision which involved a pickup truck and an SUV. Both drivers, a 46-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman, died as a result of the crash.

The passenger in the truck was transported to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is engaged and the investigation is continuing.
