Two companies charged after employee sustained serious injuries at CBS worksite


The provincial government has laid charges against two companies after an employee sustained serious injuries at a worksite in Conception Bay South in July 2020.


Hurricane Industrial Equipment Incorporated and Blue Water Agencies Limited are facing charges.


Hurricane Industrial Equipment Incorporated is charged with two violations under the OHS Act and Regulations relating to its alleged failure to provide a safe workplace, and the necessary equipment, systems and tools that are without risk to workers, and to ensure that safe work procedures were followed at the workplace.


Blue Water Agencies Limited is charged with two violations of the OHS Act and Regulations relating to its alleged failure to ensure that employers and workers performing work in respect to a project, comply with the OHS Act and Regulations, and ensure that its OHS Program was implemented, in particular with respect to contractors.


Both companies will appear in Provincial Court in St. John’s on May 16.
