Twillingate RCMP seizes dirt bike and tickets driver #nltraffic

A 44-year-old Summerford man is without his dirt bike following a traffic stop conducted by Twillingate RCMP.

On Sunday afternoon RCMP was on patrol in the town of Summerford. Police observed a dirt bike driving on the road towards them at a high rate of speed. Radar readings showed the dirt bike’s speed was more than 40 km/h over the posted residential speed limit.

The driver, a 44-year-old man from Summerford, was not wearing a helmet and the dirt bike was not insured. Police seized and impounded the dirt bike for thirty days and the man was ticketed for a number of offences.
