Traffic Restrictions in Effect for Churchill Park Music Festival This Weekend

Motorists can expect road closures, parking restrictions and traffic delays in the Churchill Park area of St. John's as the Churchill Park Music Festival takes place on Friday, July 24, and Saturday, July 25.


The City of St. John's said several roads will be closed daily from 3 p.m. until midnight to accommodate the event.


Road closures include:

  • Elizabeth Avenue, between Allandale Road and Strawberry Marsh Road/Long Pond Road;

  • Allandale Road, between Elizabeth Avenue and Milbanke Street;

  • Milbanke Street, between Allandale Road and Rowan Place;

  • Rowan Place, between Elizabeth Avenue and Milbanke Street;

  • Milbanke Street Extension;

  • Rowan Place;

  • Allandale Place;

  • Appledore Place;

  • Bidford Place;

  • Cork Place; and

  • Dartmouth Place.


The city said access will remain available for local traffic and emergency vehicles. Residents must provide proof of address to gain access to the affected areas.


Parking restrictions will also be in effect from noon until midnight on both days. No parking will be permitted on one side of the following streets:

  • Allandale Road (between Pine Bud Street and Poplar Avenue);

  • Stoneyhouse Street;

  • Poplar Avenue;

  • Maple Street;

  • Chestnut Place;

  • Pine Bud Place;

  • Long Pond Road;

  • Strawberry Marsh Road; and

  • Smithville Crescent.

Illegally parked vehicles may be ticketed or towed.


For those using accessible transit, the GoBus pick-up and drop-off location will be in the Churchill Square parking lot in front of the CIBC branch.
