ArtsNL opens nominations for 41st annual Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Awards

ArtsNL is accepting nominations for the 41st annual Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Awards.
The awards recognize artistic excellence and contributions to the province’s arts community.
Members of the public can submit one nomination in each of eight categories:
Artist Achievement Award
Artist of the Year Award
Arts in Education Award
Emerging Artist Award
Hall of Honour Award
Helen R.K. Peters Art & Community Builder Award
Patron of the Arts Award
Ross Leslie Award
Nominations must be submitted online through ArtsNL. The nomination form serves as a letter of support, and nominators are asked to explain why their nominee is a strong candidate for the selected category.
Nominators must obtain permission from the individual, group or organization before submitting a nomination. ArtsNL says multiple nominations for the same nominee in the same category do not increase their chances of receiving an award. If multiple nominations are submitted, ArtsNL will proceed with the first complete nomination received.
Eligible nominees will be contacted by email within two to three weeks after nominations close. Nominees will then be asked to provide supporting materials for the jury, including a biography and recent headshot.
Nominations close Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. Newfoundland Time.
The date and location of the awards ceremony will be announced at a later date.
