Traffic disruptions planned for Freshwater Road and Empire Avenue intersection

Motorists can expect traffic disruptions at the Freshwater Road and Empire Avenue intersection in St. John’s on Tuesday, Sept. 1, as rehabilitation work takes place.

The traffic impacts are scheduled to be in effect from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Freshwater Road will operate under alternating traffic, with one lane open at a time.

Southbound traffic on Empire Avenue near Pizza Empire will be detoured along Graves Street, Hoyles Avenue, Guy Street and Anderson Avenue.

Northbound traffic on Empire Avenue near Wishingwell Park will be detoured via Cashin Avenue, Pennywell Road and Adams Avenue.

Access will remain available for local traffic, including residents, employees and motorists accessing the Canada Revenue Agency parking lot.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes and avoid the area where possible.
