Tip from public leads to arrest of drunk driver

At 7:50 pm on Saturday the RNC received a report of a possible impaired driver in the downtown area of St. John’s.

The caller advised police that the vehicle was all over the road and that the operator was possibly impaired.

Officers located the vehicle in the downtown area and, as a result of a brief investigation, a 28-year-old female was charged with Impaired Driving and Operation over .80.

The female’s license was suspended for seven days and her vehicle was impounded.

The accused was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
