Thursday Forecast: Warmest Weather in the West, Cooler Along the Coast

Temperatures across Newfoundland and Labrador will vary widely today, with the warmest conditions expected in western Newfoundland and parts of central Labrador, while cooler marine air keeps eastern and northern coastal communities much cooler.

In Labrador, highs will reach 25°C in Happy Valley-Goose Bay under a mix of sun and cloud. Nain is expected to climb to 23°C with a chance of showers, while Churchill Falls and Labrador City will each reach 20°C with a mix of sun and cloud. It will be much cooler along the coast, with Hopedale reaching just 11°C and Mary's Harbour topping out near 10°C.

Across the island, the warmest weather is expected on the west coast. Corner Brook will enjoy sunny skies and a high of 25°C, while Port Saunders reaches 20°C under mainly sunny conditions.

Elsewhere, temperatures will be more moderate. Grand Falls-Windsor and Marystown are both forecast to reach 18°C with a mix of sun and cloud.

Cloudier conditions are expected farther east. St. John's is forecast to reach 16°C under mostly cloudy skies, while Gander will top out at 15°C with showers. On the Northern Peninsula, St. Anthony is expected to reach 14°C with a mix of sun and cloud.
