Three vehicle collision in Mount Pearl results in drunk driving charge

Emergency crews responded to a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Sunrise Avenue, Mount Pearl just after 9:00 pm last night.

Officers determined that one of the operators was showing signs of impairment. The operator provided a breath sample which was over three times the legal limit.

The 48-year-old male was arrested and charged with impaired driving and operation over 80 mg/100ml.

The accused was released to appear in court at a later date. His vehicle was impounded.

There were no injuries.
