The Chicks will headline this year’s Churchill Park Music Festival, organizers announced, with the performance set for Saturday, July 18.
Elle King has been confirmed as a special guest for the show, with additional performers expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Tickets go on sale Tuesday at 12 p.m. Newfoundland time through the festival’s website.
The Chicks, a 13-time Grammy Award-winning trio, are among the best-selling female bands of all time, with more than 30 million albums sold worldwide. The group released its most recent studio album, Gaslighter, in 2020 after a lengthy hiatus.
King, a Grammy-nominated artist known for blending pop, country and blues-rock, has achieved multi-platinum success and widespread streaming numbers. Her hit collaboration “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” with Miranda Lambert reached the top of Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.
The Churchill Park Music Festival is held annually in St. John’s and features a range of major musical acts. Organizers say the event aims to provide an accessible and inclusive experience for attendees.
