Teen ticketed for driving ATV in wooded area

A 16-year-old driver has been ticketed and had their ATV seized following an incident in Pouch Cove on Thursday evening.

At around 7:17 p.m., members of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s Operational Patrol Services responded to a report of an ATV being operated in a wooded area.

According to police, the complainant had stopped the ATV before officers arrived.

The teen was issued a ticket under the Forestry Act for operating an off-road vehicle in a prohibited area, as well as a ticket for driving without insurance. The ATV was seized at the scene.
