Teen arrested after confrontation at St. John’s business

A routine disturbance call at a west-end business in St. John’s escalated into a foot chase and altercation on Tuesday night.
At approximately 10:20 p.m. on March 18, RNC officers responded to reports of a disturbance at the establishment. Upon arrival, they spotted a male suspect fleeing the scene on foot.
Officers pursued the individual, and when they caught up, a physical struggle ensued before the suspect was taken into custody. The suspect, a male youth, was later transported to the Youth Remand Centre.
Authorities have charged the teen with multiple offenses, including assault, assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and carrying a concealed weapon.
Additionally, police confirmed the youth had eleven outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest.
