Sunday Drive to Victoria

Next to Carbonear on the Baccalieu Trail is Victoria.

Victoria, located on Route 70, is one of the few communities near the coast that actually has no saltwater.

The community may have been named after Queen Victoria. Locally, the community is known as "The Village".

Since the area has no saltwater, it is typically warmer in the summer months than the nearby communities of Carbonear and Salmon Cove.

Victoria has a population of 1,658. Most local services are in Carbonear. There are a couple of smaller businesses in the community.

Sunday Drive is a weekly feature that focuses on small to medium communities in Newfoundland and Labrador.
