Sunday Drive to Norstead
Just a stone's throw away from the L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site is Norstead on the Great Northern Peninsula.
The village is a recreation of what a Viking port of trade may have looked like during the Viking era (790-1066 AD). The site has a boat shed with its very own Viking ships, a chieftain's hall, a church, and a workshop.
When visiting the site you'll meet with costumed interpreters who bring the site to life.
There is a fee to access the site.
Sunday Drive is a weekly feature that focuses on small to medium communities in Newfoundland and Labrador.
