Studded Tire Usage Permitted Today #nltraffic

A sure sign that winter is on the way, studded tires are permitted for use by those who choose to do so as of today.

Given the special weather statement issued for parts of the province, studded tires are permitted beginning today (Monday, October 26). Studded tires are required to be removed by April 30, 2021

Labrador and portions of the west coast of Newfoundland have already seen snow so far this fall.

The provincial government reminds people to drive according to weather conditions.

Motorists can also better prepare their vehicles for winter by ensuring tires are in good condition, brakes, wipers and lights are in working order, and that all fluid levels including windshield wash, antifreeze and oil are checked. Carrying an emergency kit in the vehicle while travelling on the province’s highways, especially in the winter months, is encouraged.

Do you wait for the snow to put your tires on?
