Strong winds and unsettled weather to persist overnight

Tonight, most of eastern and central Newfoundland will see rain transition to flurries with local amounts of 2 cm possible. Along the west coast, rain will transition to snow with 5 to 10 cm possible. Winds will be gusty across Newfoundland, with coastal areas potentially seeing gusts up to 110 km/h. Lows from minus 11 to minus 3 are expected.


Overnight, southeastern Labrador is expected to receive 10 to 15 cm of snow, accompanied by strong winds. Areas such as Eagle River will see about 5 cm. Elsewhere, partly cloudy skies are expected with lows ranging from minus 26 to minus 21.
