Stolen vehicle chase ends in arrest in Mount Pearl

A man is in custody following a dramatic early morning police chase involving a stolen vehicle in Mount Pearl.
At approximately 3:04 a.m., RNC officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle in the area of Pitts Memorial Drive. The driver refused to pull over, prompting a brief pursuit.
Police later located the vehicle abandoned in a nearby parking lot. The suspect fled on foot but was quickly tracked down with assistance from the RNC’s K9 Unit.
A 31-year-old man was arrested and is facing multiple charges, including flight from police, dangerous driving, and possession of property obtained by crime. He was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later this morning.
