To celebrate and recognize the inspiring contributions of women in the culinary industry, DoorDash has unveiled 16 women-owned restaurants who are each receiving $10,000 Made By Women Restaurant Grants. One such restaurant is Sugar Mama's in St. John's.

Grants can be used for a variety of business expenses, including equipment upgrades, website improvements, and more. Small restaurants across Canada receive funding from DoorDash Canada to accelerate future business growth and create lasting community impact, in partnership with Monday Girl.

Lanie Stewart, Owner of Sugar Mama's in St. John's shares more about her bakery and what this grant means to her.

“Sugar Mama’s was born when my two oldest daughters became mothers and I took my home baking to a retail location, providing an opportunity for us to work together and for them to support their young families. My three daughters work alongside me at the bakery to this day, in addition to several other talented women who have helped build Sugar Mamas over the past 14 years. With our Made by Women grant, we'll be able to purchase a cookie printer to take our designs to the next level. This gesture from DoorDash will go a long way to ensure we can continue providing our community with lasting smiles and memories, made possible with our treats.”
