A 60-year-old woman has been charged following an incident in downtown St. John’s involving repeated false calls to emergency services.
RNC officers responded to a residence after receiving a report of mischief in progress. Police say officers located and arrested the woman, who had been calling 911 continuously with false complaints.
She has been charged with mischief by falsely reporting offences, breaching the Emergency 911 Act for placing frivolous or vexatious calls, and resisting arrest.
The woman was held in custody to appear in court the following morning.
