Police in St. John’s arrested a 27-year-old woman following a reported theft at a commercial business in the city’s east end on Monday afternoon.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to a call shortly before 3 p.m. reporting a theft in progress. Police said a known woman allegedly stole multiple items from the business before leaving the area in a vehicle.

Officers later located the suspected vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, finding the woman inside. Police said she was also wanted on six outstanding warrants at the time of her arrest.

The woman now faces five counts of theft under $5,000, as well as charges of breach of undertaking, breach of a release order, and two counts of failure to attend court.

She was held in custody to appear in provincial court this morning.
