St. John's Winter Activity Centre Open

The Winter Activity Centre in the North Bank Lodge at Pippy Park has opened for the season.

During the winter, the Pippy Park campground is configured into an area suitable for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Trails are lit for evening use and there is no cost to use the trails.

Snowshoes and classic cross-country skis are available for rent at the Winter Activity Centre. Payment is accepted by cash, debit and credit. Identification is required to rent skis and snowshoes.

Hourly rates:

• $5, single

• $10, family of three

• $15, family of four or more

Adaptive equipment is available to individuals who require their use. Equipment must be pre-booked by calling 576-6972 or emailing inclusion@stjohns.ca.

New this year, Family and Adult Ski Lessons are being offered. For more information or to register search the course title at stjohns.ca/RECconnect.

Skiing and snowshoeing are weather dependent, and conditions can change daily. Call the Winter Activity Centre Info Line at 737-3651 for updates.

Hours of operation:

• Tuesday - noon to 9 p.m.

• Thursday - noon to 9 p.m.

• Friday - noon to 10 p.m.

• Saturday - 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

• Sun – 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
