The City of St. John’s is advising residents of service schedules and facility operations for Orangemen’s Day.

While some municipal offices will be closed today, several city services and recreational facilities will continue to operate.

Curbside waste collection will proceed as regularly scheduled. The Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility will be open for commercial users only from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

All parking by-laws, including paid parking regulations, will remain in effect throughout the day, as Orangemen’s Day is not recognized as a Shops Closing holiday.

The Visitor Information Centre at 348 Water Street will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Street cleaning operations will also continue as scheduled beginning at 10 p.m. Monday evening. Residents are reminded to remove vehicles from designated areas during posted cleaning times to avoid fines.

City-operated community centres and day camp programs will operate as usual on the holiday.

Recreational facilities, including the swimming pools at Bannerman Park and Bowring Park, will be open. Splash pads at Bowring Park, Bannerman Park and Kenmount Park will also be available for public use.

Public washrooms will remain open at Bannerman Park, Bowring Park, Kenmount Park, Quidi Vidi Lake and Kenny’s Pond.
