St. John's Schedule for the Holidays

There are several changes to services in the City of St. John's over the holidays.

Most City offices and facilities are closed from noon today until Wednesday, December 28 and from noon on Friday, December 30 to Tuesday, January 3.

All City parking by-laws are still in effect, while paid parking regulations will not be enforced on Monday, December 26, Tuesday, December 27; and Monday, January 2. Paid parking regulations are in effect on all other weekdays, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The Quidi Vidi dog park and walking trail will be closed due to New Year’s Eve fireworks on December 31 and will reopen on January 1 after the site has been checked and deemed clear.

Waste Collection and Christmas Tree Drop Off

Robin Hood Bay Regional Waste Management Facility is closing at noon Saturday, December 24 and is reopening at 8:00 am on Tuesday, December 27; and is closing at noon Saturday, December 31 and is reopening at 8:00 am on Monday, January 2.

Waste and recycling will not occur on Monday, December 26, it will be collected on Tuesday, December 27, along with regular Tuesday collection.

For those wishing to dispose of Christmas trees, remember that only natural, undecorated trees are accepted. Do not bundle or tie the tree.

There are two sites to dispose of trees.

• Quidi Vidi Lake, large gravel parking lot off The Boulevard; Wednesday, Dec. 28 to Sunday, Jan. 8; excluding Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

• Robin Hood Bay Residential Drop-Off, 340 East White Hills Road, open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the exception of Dec. 31 closing at noon.
