St. John's opens applications for funding for heritage structures


The City of St. John's will be providing funds to homes that are a designated Heritage Building for maintenance or conservation.


Launched in 2016, the Heritage Financial Incentives Program has provided over $250,000 in grant funding to 95 successful applicants.


The funding is available to both homes and businesses.


There are two types of grants available.

  • Up to 25 per cent of material and labour costs to a maximum of $1,000 for maintenance and repair to façade elements bordering a public street.

  • Up to 25 per cent of material and labour costs to a maximum of $5,000 for the preservation, restoration and/or replacement of façade elements bordering a public street.

Applications will be accepted until May 1.
