St. John's opens applications for funding for heritage structures
The City of St. John's will be providing funds to homes that are a designated Heritage Building for maintenance or conservation.
Launched in 2016, the Heritage Financial Incentives Program has provided over $250,000 in grant funding to 95 successful applicants.
The funding is available to both homes and businesses.
There are two types of grants available.
Up to 25 per cent of material and labour costs to a maximum of $1,000 for maintenance and repair to façade elements bordering a public street.
Up to 25 per cent of material and labour costs to a maximum of $5,000 for the preservation, restoration and/or replacement of façade elements bordering a public street.
Applications will be accepted until May 1.
