St. John's New Year’s Eve Fireworks and Holiday Events

The City of St. John’s New Year’s Eve fireworks display will occur at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31 over Quidi Vidi Lake. In the case of unsuitable weather for fireworks, they will be postponed to 8:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 2021.

For those attending the City recommends attendees remain in their vehicles to watch the fireworks. If exiting vehicles or walking to the site, wear a facemask and remain in your bubble with 6 feet physical distance from others.

From December 22 to January 4, local musicians have curated a playlist of their holiday music for you. Find the Holiday Trail Mix at musicnl.ca/holidaytrailmix. Temporary signs on trails in some City parks and the Grand Concourse will give the direction on how to listen on your smartphone.

On Christmas Eve at 6:00 p.m., residents are invited to take part in Jingle St. John’s. Stand outside on your doorstep and ring a bell for two minutes to spread the magic of the season, hope for the year ahead and demonstrate community and holiday spirit.

The holiday lights at Bowring Park, City facilities and other partners throughout the community will remain on during the holidays and offers another safe and self-directed way to take in the sights of the season.
