The City of St. John’s has updated the timeline and rates for public EV charging stations.
There are currently six sites with level two chargers. With federal ZEVIP funding, 26 faster Level 2 chargers will be installed between 2025–2027 at priority locations, including Newtown Road Tennis Club, Cavendish Square, Kenmount Terrace Community Centre, and Quidi Vidi Lake, along with several others.
Existing Level 2 sites will increase to $2.00/hour, and the new, faster Level 2 stations will increase to $4.50/hour.
Fees cover electricity, maintenance, monitoring, and a reserve for replacements. Rates remain below market averages in other provinces.
