St. John's holding events for Canada Day


The City of St. John's will be holding several events today for Canada Day.


There will be an afternoon of free family fun and entertainment at King George V Park from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. The event will include bouncers, Laser Tag, balloon twisters, interactive games, live music, an interactive cultural space, free birthday cupcakes and much more.


In the event of inclement weather, the event will move to the Techniplex at 39 Churchill Avenue. Pets are not permitted at King George V Park or in the Techniplex.


The fireworks remain cancelled.


Earlier today there was a sunrise celebration at Signal Hill National Historic Site.


Closures

All recreation facilities, community centres and the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility will be closed and garbage and recycling will not be collected today.
