A Downtown Holiday Fair will take place this weekend in St. John's.

There will be free activities on Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm each day.

On Saturday there will be pop-up holiday performances and roaming mummers throughout Water Street and Duckworth Street. There will also be an interactive musical tree forest at the open space near the LSPU Hall stairs.

On Sunday, there will be a free family concert on George Street featuring Rum Ragged, Swinging Belles, Co-Video Collective, Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra and Untellable Movement Theatre. George Street will feature holiday displays, lights, decorations, photo backdrops and free hot chocolate. Trinity Pub will be hosting its popular Trinity Market with a variety of vendors.

During the concert, there will be a series of short videos that will feature individuals, businesses, and community organizations who have demonstrated resilience and success throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

In case of inclement weather, the Holiday Fair will take place on December 17 and 18.

The forecast doesn't look terrible as of right now. On Saturday we expect a few showers and flurries with a north wind and a high of 3.

On Sunday we expected cloudy skies with a chance of flurries. A northwest wind and a high of zero.
