St. John's continuing infrastructure project on Water Street

Work will continue this fall and next Spring on the Water Street Infrastructure Project in St. John's.

This multi-year capital improvement initiative focuses on replacing and rehabilitating water mains and sewer lines, along with combined sewer separation, between Waldegrave Street and Prescott Street.

Most of the project was completed in 2023.

The final phase involves installing a cured-in-place pipe liner in the sewer system between Queen Street and Prescott Street. The pipe lining will be completed using a trenchless method. To complete this phase, exploratory work is scheduled for fall 2025, with the sewer lining construction beginning in spring 2026.
