St. John's Awards Building Safer Communities Grants

The City of St. John's has awarded $477,000 to three organizations as part of the Building Safer Communities Grant Program to support community-based service providers in developing or strengthening crime and violence prevention and intervention initiatives for children, youth, young adults, and their families.

An internal evaluation committee recommended funding for the three projects.

The recipients are the Iris Kirby House who will receive $130,000, Thrive CYN St. John’s Inc. will receive $150,000, and MacMorran Community Centre Corp. and Buckmaster’s Circle Community Centre Inc. will get $197,000.
