Springdale RCMP Arrest 18-year-old Following Hit & Run #nltraffic


On Tuesday night Springdale RCMP arrested 18-year-old Brady Penney, who faces multiple charges after the pickup truck he was driving left the scene after hitting a pedestrian, a 20-year-old man who was seen at hospital for minor injuries.


The hit and run occurred Tuesday afternoon in South Brook. It is alleged that after striking the victim with his truck, Penney threatened the man and then drove away. Police issued a request to the public last evening for assistance in locating the pickup truck, described as an older model Ford F150 extended cab pick up truck, dark blue in color with the lower portion of the vehicle painted grey.


Penney is charged with:

  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm

  • Failure to stop after an accident

  • Failure to comply with a release order condition - 3 counts

  • Uttering threats against a person

  • Operating an unregistered/unlicensed vehicle

  • Operating a vehicle without a driver’s license

  • Operating a vehicle without an insurance policy
