The City of St. John's has distributed surveys to households on streets that participated in the 2025 temporary speed cushion trial.

Temporary speed cushions were installed from summer to late fall 2025 on Gleneyre Street, Empire Avenue (between Circular Road and Rennies Mill Road), and Smithville Crescent.

Residents of these streets are being asked to provide feedback on the project. At least 60 percent of survey respondents on a street must be in favour of constructing permanent speed cushions for the project to move ahead.

If this threshold is not met, these traffic calming measures will not be installed, and the project will be concluded.
