SJRFD responds to cliff rescue at Cape Spear, rescuing one female

The St John's Regional Fire Department were called to Cape Spear at around 7:08 p.m. Sunday evening for reports of a female that was injured on a steep cliff near the Cape Spear Lighthouse.


Fire crews responded with members of the high angle rescue team from the West-End and Central Fire Stations in St. John's and the RNC responded to a report of a high angle rescue at Cape Spear on Sunday evening.


St John's Regional FD Crews with the high angle rescue team were on the scene for a little over two and half hours.


Witnesses on the scene said that two-three fishermen tired to help the female before emergency crews could get on scene.


The female sustained a leg injury in this incident and was transported to hospital.
